Spam Calls — High-Volume Junk Calls
Spam calls are unsolicited bulk calls of any flavour: marketing, surveys, scams, and dialler tests. They are best thought of as the phone-call equivalent of email spam. Volume, not content, is the defining feature.
Common signs
- Caller ID matches a number reported many times on GhostCallers.
- Generic opening: "Hello, am I speaking with the homeowner?"
- Repeated calls from rotating numbers in the same prefix.
Typical scripts
- "Bulk callers cycling through every number in a 0161 prefix."
- "Pre-recorded message about "your recent accident"."
What to do
- Don't pick up if you do not recognise the number — let it go to voicemail.
- Forward any spam text to 7726 (free).
- Add a report on GhostCallers so other users see the volume.
Search a number
If you've received one of these calls, search the number on GhostCallers to see what other people have reported.
